Blood Donation Camp Organized at Quantum Global Campus05-Apr-2016
Its very aptly said that to usher kindness, a humane heart is needed and not any gymnast.Time and again we are consistently seeing that how fatal road accidents take away the lives of innocent people just in a stroke, but the most crucial truth is that none of us pay heed to it until it happens with our dear ones. Because the one who undergoes that situation could only feel that inevitable pain. Figures show that within every 2-3 minutes, one person lose his life due to scarcity of blood. Still, on this planet there exist people who are the true incarnation of God , who help these victims in their dire need by donating blood.
Considering this thought, Quantum Global Campus took the initiative of organizing Blood Donation Camp at its premises under the conveyance of Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust. Through this initiative, more than 200 units of blood was collected through the volunteer donors at the Campus. Great enthusiasm was witnessed among the students for voluntary blood donation. From the very outset of the camp, bounteous youth students queued up for free-willed blood donation , but due to lack of time, several students had to go back disappointed without donating blood. But full with vigor and enthusiasm, these students affirmed for blood donation in future. For this very initiative of donating blood, the social club “PAHAL-Ek Nanha Kadam” too participated with full energy and assisted in the arrangement of the camp.
On this noble occasion of blood donation, the Director General Prof. S.C Handa motivated students by saying that if one drop of their blood could save a moribund life then it certainly bestows with immense peace and satisfaction. On thrusting the need of the future, he also said-
“For the man who can’t come in need of anyone ,worst is his life
For which can’t save anybody’s life, that blood is not blood rather water.”
These lines augmented the enthusiasm of the students to another level.
On this occasion, Shri Ajay Goyal, Chairman, addressed the students by saying that if we voluntarily donate blood then it gives one pleasure and self satisfaction. Also he said- ‘Donate blood and see……it feels good ! ’.
The camp commenced at 10:00 AM at the college premise itself, in which students along with faculties participated with great might and motivated the youth for donating blood .On this occasion, Mr. Gaurav, P.R.O, Himalayan Institute Jolly Grant uplifted the students by saying that this very act of voluntary blood donation acts as savior of many lives. Also, he said that anybody could be a part of untimely and unwanted accidents or diseases, for that sake being a part of an educated and civil society each one of us should play a role of a responsible citizen and donate bold. According to figures, blood donation in India has risen significantly every year as compared to 2006 to that in 2016, which is satisfactory but we are still far from cent percent objective which ought to be attained.
To unfold this very objective of blood donation, the students and faculties of the campus participated for voluntary blood donation with full enthusiasm and vigor.
For the arrangement of this camp , Dr. Sunil Hinduja, Dr.Puja Sahta, Dr. Aabha Pandey,P.R.O Gaurav and other technical facilitators lead the camp.
Dhruv Joshi, Vivek Giri, Aayushi Sharma, Mansi Mittal, Mohit Dhimaan, Kumar Satyam, Prakhar Rastogi, Paramjeet Singh, Rahul Sambyal, Kaushik Kiran, Vikrant Sharma, Maaya Shankar and others of ‘PAHAL-Ek Nanha Kadam’ gave their enormous contribution. Mr.Gaurav , P.R.O of Himalayan Institute praised the enthusiasm and efforts of students of voluntary blood donation. He expressed his delight by saying that its been four years since he has been visiting Quantum and everytime, he witness new energy and enthusiasm among the students. Also, he expressed his thanking gesture to the management and staff of the college for their cooperation.
Among the faculties of Quantum, more than 60 faculties donated blood. A different smile was witnessed on the face of the students after donating blood. Among those students, few of them told that this act of donating blood is not just for saving lives of people but its also a noble act to keep humanity alive. Also, everybody praised from heart for this noble deed of arranging the camp and expressed their gesture of more such kind of camps in future.

Students of Quantum Reached Germany For Internship04-Mar-2016
It’s very aptly said that if one’s will and desire is strong then his hardwork certainly bear fruits! If one’s decision has power then his destiny itself walks and knocks the door!
Something very similar happened at Quantum Global Campus, whose two of its students Chanderkant Vaid(Mechatronics Engineering,3rd year) and Kanchan Jirel (Computer Science Engineering,2nd year) got opportunity through campus to visit Germany. This opportunity has added joyous moments in Quantum’s history which is likely to be unforgettable by anyone in future!
It is worth pondering that a milestone was reached last year in the field of Robotics when MOU was signed between Quantum Global Campus and APS GmbH, European Centre for Mechatronics, Germany. The agenda of the entire collaboration was to provide platform to the students of Quantum so that they can create their future in the field of Robotics. Under this collaboration, “Advanced Robotic Control Lab” was set up at Quantum on 22nd August,2015 in which 12 weeks full-fledged course arrangement was made. In this the students of Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electricals and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Information and Technology and Mechatronics Engineering participated with heart and soul. This outcome is truly the result of hard work done by the students and faculties who have burnt the midnight oil to achieve this day where two of its students have been selected for unpaid scholarship training in Germany. These two students were selected under the guidance of Professors of Quantum and Germany. Through this curriculum students can truly excel in the field of Robotics and Automation and create their dynamic future by availing the opportunities in the same field.
According to the sources, information obtained by Quantum Global Campus, two of its selected students are currently in Germany for their training in Automation Robotics(Mechatronics). The students are in touch with the campus through skype, etc and have shared their excitement gesture for the training opportunity they have received through the campus. Also, the experiences being shared by these students have increased enthusiasm and vigour among the rest of the students in the campus towards the field of Robotics and Automation.
Quantum selected as the Nodal Centre for IIT Roorkee Virtual Labs05-Feb-2016
Quantum Global Campus, Roorkee – among the Top Engineering Colleges in Uttarakhand has achieved another milestone by being chosen as the nodal centre for the virtual laboratory project of IIT Roorkee based in Uttarakhand.
Under the centrally sponsored project, students of any engineering colleges in Uttarakhand can visit Quantum to login to the nation-wide network of technical institutions. They can conduct experiments in several fields including bio-medical imaging, signal processing, civil engineering, electrical machines and surveying.
Being one of the fastest growing institutions of North India, Quantum the leading engineering college has achieved this landmark opportunity to be the nodal centre. Its rigorous achievement in Campus Placements of its students and making them ‘industry-ready’ has lured great academicians and industrialists far and wide. This project of Virtual Labs by IIT Roorkee would certainly add to its host of values and strengthen its infrastructure to another level.
Virtual Labs is one of the largest educational initiatives in the world introduced by Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Govt. of India under the National Mission on Education through Information and Communications Technology (NME-ICT).
This initiative would extremely help Quantum students to perform real time experiments and projects at their own premises without requiring any kind of sophisticated equipments which are somehow not available due to geographical constraints.
It’s truly an exciting venture for Quantum students to get access to free bi-monthly online trainings along with internships in several domains.
The state-of the-art laboratory facility in all disciplines of engineering which currently exists at IIT Delhi, IIIT Hyderabad, IIT Bombay and a few more could be availed by Quantum students.
Here students can access and perform experiments at the lab of their choice and at their preferred time slots.
Also, it would provide an exclusive feature for its faculties viz. lab question paper development, setup of online lab exam for students, results reporting etc.

It was a great learning for me to be a part of Digital Learning Knowledge Exchange in Jaipur.
The whole conference was all about Technology enhance learning and what we can learn from MOOCs i.e massive open online courses.Elets is an event management company and they used to organise these kind of events. They promote E-learning events. There are so many E-magazines, books, health related magazines, governance magazines which they used to promote. The event was initiated by Vice Chancellor of Vardhman Mahaveer Open Univ. Dr. P.Balakrishna Shetty. He told us about 4 aspects of learning.
1. Teaching - hours/ attendance
3. Knowledge - data collection / information
4. Wisdom - capacity to take decission.
He asked at what time a student really study. At what time he /she feels that we have to do now. In exams times..means..revision time. Basically he said, we have to make our class presentative through various ppts with diagrams...visual class..2 way interaction should be there..individual questions ans..group questions ans..etc. This is what we are already doing. We should enroll students in a project from day one. Like plant sapling..and he will take care of that plant and his growth..on the other side..he must analyse where i was and what i am after certain time. There was so many things discussed by Directors and faculties but i am very happy to say that we are already doing these kind of practices which they were discussing.

National Stock Exchange (NSE) conducts Exam for the MBA Students of Quantum School of Business29-Nov-2014
National Stock Exchange (NSE) has conducted online test for NCFM Certifications at Quantum Global Campus, Roorkee on Tuesday dated 25 Nov 2014.It is important to note that NSE conducts online test centres) out of which onecentre is located at Dehradun which covers whole Uttarakhand Region.
Quantum Global Campus is the first and the only institute in whole Uttarakhand region which has had tie-up withNSE to conduct its online test for NCFM Certifications besides its own NSE-IT centre situated at Dehradun.
It is indeed a matter of pride for Quantum for being first and the only centre among all the institutes of Uttarakhand region to have online test for NCFM certifications conducted by NSE – The Largest stock Exchange of India.
The NCFM certification for the students is a part of the ongoing skill development initiatives taken up for the MBA students at Quantum. During the 2-year MBA program the students undergo various certification modules, NCFM being one of them. NCFM modules are extremely job relevant and very helpful for all all those who intended to work in stock broking companies and financial institutions.
After passing NCFM,the students can make an entry into the stock market as a trainee. After they gain experience, they can get involved in four main careers involved with stock exchange proceedings depending on their interests. Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has made certification from National Stock Exchange (NSE) mandatory for those working in stock markets.
The key element of financial sector reforms is the development of a pool of human resources having right skills and expertise in each segment of the industry. Taking into account international experience and the needs of the Indian financial markets, with a view to protect interests of investors in financial markets and more importantly, to minimise risks of losses arising out of deficient understanding of markets and instruments, National Stock Exchange introduced in 1998 a facility for testing and certification by launching NSE's Certification in Financial Markets (NCFM).
The stock market has always been a short-cut to earn high profits. However, with frequent pitfalls, there is a dire necessity for skilled and expert manpower to guide the end-user. Also, besides acquiring requisite skills and knowledge, SEBI has made it mandatory for all personnel working for the financial market industry to be NCFM-certified in relevant modules prior to joining the organization.

A recent research conducted at Quantum School of Business by Mr. Lalit Sharma and Dr. Pankaj Madan on the students of Uttarakhand studying in various professional courses was recently published by Springer, a leading publisher of United Kingdom. The research has shown that past self-employment experience of a student has a negative impact on their entrepreneurial intentions. Students who had high academic scores were not interested to take up entrepreneurship as a career.
