Students won laurels in Dharohar-Culmination Joyous Mood All round the Campus!!

The most promising college of North India, Quantum Global Campus Roorkee, celebrated the finale of the three day techno-cultural fest- “Dharohar-2015” with the most lavish concluding events on its own lush green campus along with The Chief Guest, Brigadier Digvijay Setia, Bengal Engineering Group, Roorkee, The Board of Management, The President Shri Parveen Garg Ji, The Chairman Shri Ajay Goyal Ji, Dignitaries, College Officials, Visitors and Participants from various colleges of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.


The culmination of Dharohar-2015 was as attractive, thrilling and memorable as its exposition. Every activity and exhibition was worth enjoying and worth remembering including the most rocking musical concert by the Avni Band & other teams at the gala evening and the special performance by Shashikant Maski, the famous Indian Comedian, who won the hearts of everyone and eased the audience with jokes and shero shayari that increased their hemoglobin level by laughing throughout his show.

The Chief Guest, Brigadier Setia, The Chairman Shri Goyal Ji, The Secretary, Er. Shobhit Goyal, Dr. S.C Handa, Professor Rohit Kushawa, Dr. Gulshan Chauhan along with other Dignitaries visited the places of competitions personally and encouraged the participants.

Students of Quantum made an impressive start in Technical Fest, consisting of Lan Gaming, Car Racing, etc. A four member team of engineering students performed confidently in the event “Robowar” competing against 10 teams from all across the cities. The competition was all about searching for the ultimate hands-on team with great design minds who can defeat its opponents. The event tested the participant’s ability of racing against time, team spirit and practical knowledge. The” Nukkad” played by the students was a forum for all enthusiasts of drama to get together and promote the spirit of theatre on campus. The out of the box events like Photo Mania, Sketch-o-Car, Project Expo, Out Code, Circuit mania and others were great to bring out the creativity in engineering concepts and theories.

During the Fest a social club named “Pahal” initiated by the College officials and the students invited the poor and needy children of the nearby region and organized literary Quizzes for them in order to promote basic educational awareness with a sense of belongingness and offered handful gifts and prizes with a token of appreciation and boosted up their moral

The Participants, Students, Management, Faculty and Staff who were the part of the events at “Dharohar”, all enjoyed the show equally and cheered on all the events. More than 1800 students from across colleges were present at the fest and many of them took part in various events.

The mega fest concluded on an extremely uplifting celebration of human creativity and competitiveness, and its ultimate expression was in the triumph, a competitor feels in accomplishment. Whether it was EDGE, the technical fest or UDAAN, the sports fest, the cultural fest that was GLITZ, or OJAS, the management fest, students shone with their creative, technical, managerial and athletic aptitude.  Suffice to say that for many of these students, as well as their teachers and parents, the award distribution ceremony was an event they would cherish for the rest of their days.

The Chairman , Shri Ajay Goyal Ji informed the media that the events were designed to explore competitive skills and talent in the domain of students’ career respectively that conveyed the message that every child is born with his uniqueness which needs to be identified and provided the right platform and environment to bloom.

During EDGE-2015, Quantum students showed they have what it takes to stay on the cutting edge of innovation. The LAN gaming contest winner was by Anmol Bansal & Team and Prashant Bisht & Team as Runner up. The truss bridge design contest went to Subodh Bende & Team and Vishal Saini & Team as Runner up ,they proved no bridge is too far when creative potential is unleashed. As for click the best, the best snap was taken by Sagar Arora, with the runner up being Rayaan. The Robowar is an incredible display of directed design and raw power,  Tejpal Singh & Team proved to be the ‘big boys on the block’ clinching the top position from Amit Kumar & Team, who were the Runner up.

It takes a lot of creative thought to make functional hardware from junk, and Junkyard Wars proved that there is no dearth of creative thinking at QST, with Ayushi Sharma & Team coming up with the most innovative solution, followed closely by Saurabh Arya & Team. ‘C’ and mathematics are the only truly universal languages today. And these languages found poetic description through the minds that participated in out code, with the finest programming accomplished by Ranjan Kumar Mohanty with the Runner up being Rehan Khan.

Creative and innovative projects explored new discoveries in which Vatsal Negi, Rajat Kumar Saini and Gaurav Khandi won the title of winner and Himanshu Saini , Himanshu Kapil and Vinit Kumar remained Runner up. Pawan got 1st Prize and Apporva received 2nd Prize in the event Informatio.

The Gods of Speed smiled upon Nikhil Kumar Singh & Team, who won the speed blaze competition and Vinod Nath & Team, Runner up. The software expo organized by the CSE Department proved fertile ground for new ideas to take root; with the best ideas being presented by Rehan Khan and the Runner up were Mohit Dhiman & Uttkarsh Shukla.

In the stormy electronic mania that was circuit madness, Vivek Kumar & Team proved themselves capable of finding the shore, winning first position, with Gautam Bharti & Team coming up as Runner up.

In the realm of automobile design, Vipin Barwaliya proved the best artists, reaching first position in Sketch O Car, Vineeth Kumar remained Runner up. Priya Sehdev, Winner and Lukshit, Runner up captured the best pics in Selfie Competition. Mohit Kumar Garg, Winner and Vipin Gupta, Runner up in CAD MAD event. Abhishek Saini & Gulfam, Winner and Mukul Kashiwal & Mohit Kumar, Runner up in Man Machine Event. Abhishek Kori, Winner and Monika Sapra, Runner up in Groupie event. Mayank Tiwari & Mohit Chauhan, Winner and Himanshu Sharma and Ashita Batra, Runner up in Scratch Game Develop competition.

The Management fest “Ojas”, gave students an opportunity to witness a wide range of events ranging from PowerPoint Presentations, B-Plan, Corporate Fashion Show, Quizzes to fun filled activities such as Comedy Skit, Collage Competition etc. The winning students and teams of various events were Mukul Singh, Winner and Rakesh Kumar Pandey & Sarvesh Pandey, Runner up in Comedy Show. Gargi Halder & Joydeep Dey, Winner and Priya Sehdev & Gunesh Malhotra, Runner up in Corporate Fashion Show. Rahul Sihghal, Winner and Hrishab Bohra & Kush Malhotra, Runner up in Business Plan.

The glittering evening sparkled with the Gala Evening which was the most awaited moment, headed by the renowned rocking concert of Avni Band,Delhi based fusion, already performed a number of shows all over India. It rocked the audience at the campus with Ethnic Rock, Contemporary Tracks, Western numbers like Sufi & Classical Rock such as Sun Raha Hai Na tu, Dhunki Dhunki Lage Re, Sawan Main Lag Gayi Aag Dil Mera, Jiya Re Jiya and also sang on audience demand. The bands- thrilling guitar riffs and amplifying voices mesmerized the audience and filled the venue with a sublime aura of bliss.

At the closing moments of Dharohar, The Dean Academics, Er. M.S Gupta thanked all the guests, visitors, students, participants and wrapped up the Dharohar Fest with a happy ending.
