Annual Function Dharohar 2014 celebrated at Quantum with Full Vogue!!


 The beautifully decorated pristine premises of Quantum Global Campus, Roorkee, abuzz with activities, under the title of “Dharohar” which is a two-day fest, known as a symbol of integration, joy, learning, prosperity and creativity, was organized by the Q-mates and college- officials. Celebration of fest showered the hues of different events, spread over the huge campus with multi fests like Technical, entitled “Edge”, Management Fest, entitled “Ojas” and Cultural events entitled “Glitz”. The Dharohar-2014 fest will continue for 2 days on the 11th & 12th of April which would see students participating in various events like Lan Gaming, Photo Mania, Project Expo, Junkyard, Sketch-o- Car, Ad-o Mania, Debate, Duet Dancing, War of Bands, Literary Events, Gaming, Programming Skills, Technical Events, Robowar and other Entertaining Events.

All the events were set on the theory of multiple intelligences that conveyed the message that every child is born with his uniqueness which needs to be identified and provided the right platform and environment to bloom.The Participants, Students, Faculty and Management who were the part of the events at “Dharohar”, all enjoyed the show alike and cheered on all the events, held at the venue. More than 2000 students from across colleges were present at “Dharohar” and many of them took part in various events. Few of the colleges who participated in the fest included, IIT Roorkee, University of Petroleum, Dehradun, COER Roorkee, etc.

The first day at “Dharohar”, was the inauguration of the Annual Fest, in the presence of Special Guests Dr.V.K Jain Vice Chancellor of Uttarakhand Technical University and  Doon University, Dr. S. Farooq (Gold Medalist), a renowned Researcher of Ayurvedic remedies & the President of the Himalaya Drug company and other invited guests, who gave an auspicious beginning by lighting the “Ceremonial Lamp” which was followed by  “Ganesh Stuti”  and a melodious “Kulgeet” of the campus presented by the students that mesmerized and rejuvenated everyone sitting over there.

The Director General of the Quantum, Dr. S.C Handa, The Director of Business School, Dr. Rohit Kushwaha, along with management formally welcomed special guests.On the arrival of the Special Guests Dr. V.K Jain, Dr. S. Farooq, and other honorable guests including Mr. Harender Garg (Chairman, SIDCUl Manufacturing Industries), Mr. Maan (Chairman, Doon International School) & Mr. Manoj (Manager-Godrej Industries), the students of the campus greeted them with a “Ceremonial Tilak” at the threshold of the Auditorium and gave a huge round of applause to offer a hearty welcome with flowers, for gracing the occasion.


The Founder Presidents of the Quantum- Campus, Shri Shyam Sunder Goyal Ji and Shri Shyam Lal Garg Ji felicitated the distinguished guests with special Mementos & Bouquets.The Director General of the campus, Dr. S.C Handa, began his address with pledge that it is the paramount duty of every educational institution to encourage students to take up chosen areas of their interest so that they can excel in their respective selected fields, taking every challenge with confidence.The Cultural Program by students revolved around the theme “Unity in Diversity”. The opening item was a Folk dance followed by a group dance set to music mix of Hindi and Punjabi. After a scintillating Punjabi dance, yet another group dance was performed by the students, representing integrity in the Indian Culture.


Besides the Cultural Bonanza and other supporting fests, meritorious students of Quantum were also honored with a prize distribution by the Special Guests.  Annanya Kataria, CSE, Nancy Agarwal, IT, Dhimanshu Setia, ME and Akansha Tyagi, ECE from B.Tech final year, topped in their respective branches and from Management Shatakshi Jindal, BBA- 2nd year, Neha Sharma, BBA final year and Swati Gupta from MBA final year topped.The best all round-performers prize went to Abhilasha, ECE, and Aditya Dhiman, MBA of final year.

The Special Guest, Dr.V.K Jain in a joyous mood congratulated the participants and wished that they should be able to pursue their dreams since they are in the rights at Quantum Global Campus, Roorkee. In addition to this, he shared a few golden tips for success, along with his blessings for their bright future.Students of Quantum made an impressive start in Technical Fest, consisting of Lan Gaming, Car Racing, etc. A four member team of engineering students performed confidently in the event “Robowar” competing against 10 teams from all across the cities. The competition was all about searching for the ultimate hands-on team with great design minds who can defeat its opponents. The event tested the participant’s ability of racing against time, team spirit and practical knowledge.The President of the campus Shri Parveen Garg was immensely proud of the efforts put into the events, the turnout at the venue and the overall success of the show.


The Founder President Shri Shyam Sunder Goyal Ji stated “Quantum Global Campus is committed to impart quality education to future technocrats and budding managers, to groom them in a holistic manner to achieve the vision and mission of their lives”. He also assured that in addition to academic programs this kind of competitions and cultural activities make the students highly confident and competitive to face the future challenges in their career too.

The mood was festive and upbeat as the participants were seen recalling how much “Dharohar” means to them and how much preparation goes into their performance before coming to Dharohar.Extravagant inaugural event was supported with the blockbuster events like Group Dancing, Solo Singing, War of Bands etc. The students from various colleges rendered raving performance at the fest.

The Chairman Mr. Ajay Goyal, the Secretary Mr. Shobhit Goyal and other Dignitaries, expressed happiness on the participants' outstanding performance, who reached the final competitions by inspiring the participants for upcoming challenges on the final day of Dharohar.The Chairman of the campus emphasized the need of more such involvement of the Quantum's students at national and global level competitions in future.The Honorable Guest Dr. S. Farooq appreciated the management and the teachers- team for their untiring efforts to bring name and fame to the institution and said that the dazzling performance by the students on stage gave him a picture of true civilization that eased him a lot.

Towards the end of the inaugural session The Secretary, Mr. Shobhit Goyal proposed the vote of thanks to all the dignitaries, management, organizers and all those who contributed to the fest for sparing their precious time from their tight schedules with their blessings for a bright future of the students.The show concluded on a grand note, where everybody, enjoyed, sang, danced with War of Bands on jashney ishqa- jashney ishqa, badtameez dil mane na etc, and seemed excited & competitive particularly the students for the final day competitions of the fest.
