Quantum Global Campus, Roorkee, celebrated at its premises ‘A Day with The Mathemagician’, Sh Anand Kumar, the founder of highly applauded Super 30 Program. This was yet another milestone in Quantum’s rich tradition of promoting excellence in students. Principals, senior faculty and students from various schools of Roorkee, Haridwar, Dehradun, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur and Rishikesh, among others, attended the intellectual feast with great enthusiasm and eagerness. A Maths Olympiad was also organised by Quantum for the top six school teams that was moderated by Sh. Anand Kumar himself to a thunderous applause.
Mr Anand Kumar, the wizard of mathematics, in his address demonstrated how students, particularly from financially deprived sections of the society, made it to some of the most premium institutions of the country through untiring hard work and determination. He motivated the students to pursue their dreams with a zeal of a missionary. He even made a passionate appeal to the principals and faculty of various institutions to ensure the competencies and values of their students with a great sense of purpose and urgency. His own life had been full of deprivations and challenges, but today his students had reached the highest positions in every conceivable part of the world. His Super 30 program has been a gateway to the IITs for nearly 30 students every year for almost last 15 years. He said that today the world looked at our students because of their excellence in mathematics and physics and it was our responsibility to ensure that these standards were never diluted. He emphasised that we must promote our children to take up engineering and technology based careers as much of the leadership in the world was actually technological leadership.
A visibly impressed Mr. Anand also praised Quantum Global Campus for its wonderful track record in education and for its infrastructure. He said he was very delighted to meet the students and faculty of Quantum and it was certainly beyond his expectations. He also expressed his happiness at the kind of placements that students had got here and encouraged them to keep pursuing the path of quality education. He also promised that he would visit the institution again and would like to see it at the pinnacle of quality education.
The Maths Olympiad was played before Mr Anand Kumar with great fervour by the various teams to a packed house. The six schools that made it to the finals were from S.R.D.A.V. Public School Saharanpur, Motherland Public School Saharanpur, Pinewood School Saharanpur, Deverndra Swaroop Bhramchari International Public School Rishikesh, Rishikesh Public School Rishikesh and Anand Swaroop Arya Saraswati Vidhya Mandir. Pinewood School Saharanpur won the Olympiad trophy and Deverndra Swaroop Bhramchari International Public School Rishikesh was the runner-up. The whole Olympiad was very interesting and enlightening and the students constantly surprised the audience with their mathematical skills. The prizes and certificates were distributed by Sh. Anand kumar.
The day started with lamp lighting by the chief guest and other dignitaries and a brilliant folk dance performance by the Quantum students. Director General, Dr S C Handa delivered the welcome address. Chairman, Sh Ajay Goyal personally introduced Sh Anand Kumar to the house and honoured him with a shawl, flowers and memento. Towards the conclusion of this energy-packed day, the melodious Kulgeet was sung by the Quantum students and a vote of thanks was proposed by the director, Dr Gulshan Chauhan. Also present on the occasion were Sh Anil Goyal, senior member Board of Governors and Secretary Sh Shobhit Goyal.
