LITERARY FEST ‘QUANTUM ABHIVYAKTI’

In this era of hip hop hustle and epic rap battles, the classic poetry has taken a back seat. The ‘Kavi Sammelan’ in Quantum Global Campus, Roorkee aims to review the magic of contemporary poetry by bringing the best poets of the country on its stage. The Director General, Dr. S.C. Handa felicitated all the invited poets, Chief Guests and other dignitaries. He said that words of a poet have an enormous power, and when they come from great poets like  Dr. Buddhinath Mishra, Dr. Surya Kumar Pandey, Shri Rajendra Rajan, M/s Rashmi Shakya, Dr. Vijendra Pal Sharma, M/s Variza Singh, Dr. Anil Chaubey, Shri Jamuna Upadhyaya & Shri Hukka Bijnauri, the magnitude and resplendence of these words, tend to achieve enormous heights”.

On the arrival of the Chief Guest, very special Poets & dignitaries, the students of the Campus gave a huge round of applause and a hearty welcome with flowers to them, for gracing the occasion. The management and other officials of the Institute honored them with bouquets and felicitated them with mementos. Dr. Buddhinath Mishra an eminent name in Navgeet poetry was awarded the “Quantum Sahitya Gaurav Samman” with a shawl, Shrifal & a very special memento.

The Chief Guest, Guest of honor, other invited guests and members of management inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp at the idol of the Goddess Saraswati. On this very auspicious occasion the students performed “Nirtya” accompanied with the Goddess Saraswati Vandana that mesmerized and rejuvenated everyone sitting over there.

 

Mrs. Neeta Sharma, Convener of the literary fest gave an outline of the fest and informed that a total number of six different events including Mega Kavi Sammelan  are to be organized, accompanied with Nine renowned poets from all the cities. She further declared the proceedings by telling the rules and regulations of the competitions to all the participants of various branches.

The culmination of literary fest was supported by many back to back competitive events for the students such as Prof. Rajneesh Kumar’ memorial Debate, Dancing verses poetry, Extempore, Mobile Documentary and movie making competition, Poster making competition, etc. The whole fest was interesting and enlightening. One of the challenging parts of the competition was the Debate and Movie making documentary where every team gave a stiff competition to one another. In addition to this students got a chance to show their hidden talents by participating in Poetry, Extempore and also presented unique collections of poems with amazing expressions.

The speakers spoke extremely well passionately on the debate topics like Corruption, Modern life style, Excessive use of mobile and other burning issues. Presence of mind,even in diverse conditions was nicely presented through a play “Doobta Jahaj”.The Chief Guest appreciated their excellent and deep knowledge on the thought provoking and stimulating topics that impressed the judges as well as the whole audience.Judges found candidates equally competitive, their mind blowing performance compelled the judges to have pannel discussion to reach the final judgement. Judges congratulated the winners and shared a few golden tips to face competition with their inspiring words.

The glittering evening gave a magical impression to the gathering. The poets recited melodious poems along with “Shero Sayari” & Laughter that won the hearts of the present, their awesome and untiring performance reminded the youngsters of our Nation’s cultural values, traditions etc. that has kept the Civilization of our country intact till now.They also praised the efforts, achievements and warm heartedness of Quantum Family, delightfully.

The Founder President Shri Shyam Sundar Goyal Ji stated, “Quantum Global Campus is committed to impart quality education to future technocrats and managers, to groom them in a holistic manner to achieve the vision and mission of their lives”. He also assured that in addition to academic programs these kinds of competitions and cultural activities make the students highly confident and competitive to face the future challenges in their career too. These co-curricular activities add many skills to the existing skills of students such as leadership, social and public speaking skills.

At the prizes distribution ceremony, the renowned poets and other officials distributed the prizes and the trophies along with certificates to the winners of the various events. Winners of various events were:

ECE Dept. got the best Dept. Trophy (Running) Suhani Singh ( EC/2ND Year) was nominated the best speaker, in debate. Mehar Anuja (BBA/1st Year) was the best speaker in extempore. CSE Dept. won trophy in Dancing verses Poetry. Mechatronics Dept. won the trophy of Mobile documentary and movie making. Vishal Saini (Civil/2nd Year) won the best prize in ‘Doobta Jahaj’ activity and overall best Dept. trophy (Running) went to ECE Deptt.

Towards the end of the program Dr. S.C Handa proposed a vote of thanks to all the dignitaries, management, organizers and all those who contributed to the program for sparing their precious time from their tight schedules with their blessings for the bright future of the students. The program came to an end with the traditional “Kulgeet” presented by the students.
